Trt and adding other helpful mood additions after

51, on test 41 mg eod. Has anyone added pregnenolone, or dhea etc after and found it to help with mood, sleep, and energy? I have been on trt for 1.5 yrs ish and it was good and peaked benefits at about the 6 month mark with 47 mg eod, doc told me to go down to 41 to get down to a better test range to reduce any side effects that might come over the years. 47 eod seemed good and I was going to try 50 eod until the doc said no you would be better off long term stabilizing at 41 eod. After dropping to 41 i have had miscellaneous nights where i sweat profusely only in my sleep for a few hours.
Should I add anything to my 41mg eod trt? hcg, dhea, pregnenolone, or anything else…maybe thyroid? I assume with my age and my testies not producing something due to trt it is affecting levels of something else now other than test. The last visit with the doc said everything looked great except the test levels were on the high side.
Depending on my bloods test in a couple weeks I am going to ask the doc if I can go back to 47mg eod most likely, still researching though, but the information out there is so widely different.

Bloodwork and returning to the levels where you felt the best seems to make the most sense. Keep it simple

DHEA can help with cognitive, immune and cortisol levels. it can have side effects. I’ve never read it can help mood.

What were your markers at on 47?
Your dr kinda sounds like an idiot. If you're past the introductory phase and are not getting blood work every few months I would be going back up to 47 mgs. You're not treating numbers on a piece of paper, your treating a real person with real life symptoms. If you feel best @47 and are not experiencing any negatives then I don't see any logical reason to have changed.

If one of our banned members was here, he would tell you everyone needs to be pregnenolone cycles.
For the guys who have been around, he also said every issue under the sun was caused by thyroid issues. Bag sags too much - thyroid issues, leg hurts - thyroid issues lol. I jest but it was getting close to that bad.
Anyway, the common sense approach is what was mentioned above by @Oldguyjiujitsu Both your levels were well within the normal parameters albeit the T was on the high end of normal, but what is wrong with that. Lots of men have high T naturally. If you were in normal levels and starting feel great, why would the doctor reduce it to control potential side effects you may never have? I agree with @Rhyno - he/she sounds like an idiot. If your new blood comes back and your T is lower, I would ask to go back to the amount I took before. Part of TRT is how you feel, not just what bloods state. Any decent doctor knows this.
As for adding either of those, I wouldn't until I had the blood tests done. I never took Pregnenolone, but DHEA did next to nothing for me. My father on the other hand was going though a rough time and losing weight from not eating. He was put on 25 mg of DHEA a day and was hungry all the time - he gained back the 10 lbs he lost and added another 5. Not from lifting weights but he is very active lifting his tools, tinkering, mowing the lawn etc. I don't think it was the DHEA that caused the weight gain directly, it was the fact it made him eat an extra real meal a day.

Leave them out and if you decide to try them, I would try one at a time and see how you feel if your doctor keeps you on the lower prescribed amount.
Good luck

I do very low dose like 25 mg per week of primo with my 200 mg script and feel great.

Libido and function are good, and gains are slow but steady.
Does 25mg a week of primo raise testosterone levels?

Thank you for the input, funny thing is one of my legs hurt haha! I will wait for my results and see how that goes first and will def ask to go back up to my original amount that took me a year to dial in…I asked for t3, t4, and shbg to be put on my next requisition to help me dial it in as they were not on my other ones for some reason amd they agreed to put it on the requisition this time.

I was running 5his and taking DHEA and my free test was through the roof. Dr cut me back to 150 and I stopped DHEA and test dropped to low normal.

Did the same to me…it took a few months but 25mg DHEA decreased my SHGB causing my E2 to plummet from 95-100 to 35pmol and free test went from 600ish to 900ish on 110pmol TRT. In theory it sounds good but I felt terrible and bloodwork was off.
