Very interesting insights from a very intelligent educated person
Too long didn't watch version:
He studied medical sciences and became a neuroseurgeon, but felt something was wrong when he wasn't able to help everyone.
He found that the patients he helped that got better, followed a specific diet and lifestyle and those that didn't followed a different diet and lifestyle.
His mindset shifted to how the medical system is set up in a "therapeutic" manner versus a preventative manner.
His main things he found in patients that got better much of which aligns with what I have found myself.
Low sodium diet
Plant based diet (mostly, but not necessarily vegan/vegetarian)
No smoking/drinking
Exercise or sweat
Sleep well
Less stress/good social life
I found most of these to be normally understood as healthy practices, however a more controversial one that I found interesting was low sodium.
I have found particularly in myself there is fairly significant negative effects of a high sodium diet, even "moderate" sodium by normal standards. Don't want to go too deep into it but a lot had to do with how it affects potassium levels and the sodium/potassium pump and the nervous system.
Interesting to see and it was a nice reminder to focus on diet and lifestyle as a priority to being healthy.
