Just saw an endo...

I actually have a specialist of the specialist appointment coming up (words from my endo that I never see anymore for good reason), with doctor Ethan Grober. Apparently this guy knows his stuff? So I'll let ya know how it goes. It's at mount Sinai hospital in Toronto.

So... just went to this clinic appointment only to be told "oh he's not taking testosterone patients anymore", even though the lady on the phone told me he most definitely was. Another wasted afternoon of time off from work.

Sick of getting the runaround, and going the ugl route 100% now. That said, a few questions for the crowd:

1) what is better, test cyp x1/wk, or test e x2/wk?
2) how to measure/pin these small amounts? I want to start at (max) 80mg / wk. That'll be pretty hard to do with 250mg/ml vials...

Thanks guys, I'm in a foul mood sitting here at a nearby Tim's.

There are 10 marks on syringe form 0 to 1 mil-each one would be 25mg-so 80mg would be a hair over 3 of the lines
You can by 1 mil needles to make it easier

Yeah I was thinking about trying to find 1ml syringes.

I would do either one at 2/week.
can you not get a script from your family doctor??

Nah, it's been a big ordeal. I've been on androgel for 3.5 years and want to switch to injectable. My family doc won't make the switch, referred me to an endo, and that's where this whole thread starts. I'm not asking much - just switch to the injectable form of the same damn meds, but it seems impossible here. So fuck them all, I'll do it myself like I should have years ago

Btw is one test better than the other for HRT? Cyp has a longer half-life, right?

superbeast is offsite atm so i will jump in here, was gonna make another comment anyhow.

The difference in half life is negligible, don't worry about it. Especially if you do it 2 or more times a week which is what I'd do. On top of that statement I'd add that I like even more frequent shots, like EOD (Every Other Day). Lots of reasons for that some come with a fair bit of debate behind them, steadier levels, less sides, smaller injections etc. Another thing to consider about syringes is possibly using slin-pins like my go to 28guage x 1ml with a 1/2 inch needle. They are easiest to measure a small dose you can inject IM if not too fat or go subcutaneous both are usually completely painless.

There are probably a bunch of posts on here about TRT, most guys inject so i know you want to get going but I would do a bunch of research before you purchase anything to avoid missing out on all the little tricks and maybe save some cash by avoiding mistakes.

Good advice. I've been dealing with this gel crap for 3.5 years, I can probably afford another week of research to get it done right

Why 80mg? That is barely above what a man produces naturally. I get you want to go in easy but I’d say at that amount you won’t notice a difference. A reasonable starting point would be 100mg.

Lol yeah, I want to run the minimum to feel "normal", I'll bump it up if need be, but I'm trying to be conservative.

my prescription is written for 200mg/week, but i only actually use 100/week and that puts me around 24. If that helps at all. I am sure everyone is different.
And what worked for me and my doc was i told her i use UGL and i am going to do it regardless and would like a known safe product. She wrote the prescription that day. At that time my test levels were like 26 or something.

Yeah I'll probably be honest with my doc eventually, and maybe that'll help my cause. My immediate concern now is just getting control over my levels and feeling healthy.

125 mg per week for TRT is a good dose. Enanth or Cyp are basically the exact same half life.
I wouldn't get too caught up in that aspect of cyp or enanthate.
Go for a half cc of either one once per week. It works very good for TRT long term.
That is my 2 cc's.

Thanks for the 2 cc's (y)

One aspect I should mention: my hair is thinning and I'm terrified of going bald. I just started fin a month ago, and shedding has already slowed down somewhat. Anyone else on TRT running fin? Have you kept your hair?

I've actually read topical testosterone (androgel) has a higher conversion rate to DHT vs injectable... so I think going with injectable is a good move either way. I just don't want to run a dose that's high enough to kill my hair, even on fin (though I know people run fin successfully on cycle so i think I'll be ok).

Lots of guys are under the impression gear makes you lose your hair......if you have a predisposition for hair loss sure it can speed it up.

Well I always thought I had good hair genetics. No baldness to speak of on either side of my family. Had a solid hairline all my life, but noticed slight thinning of my temples a few years ago after starting HRT. However, I was also reaching middle-age, so maybe it's natural.

Earlier this year I ran 700 mg test / wk and noticed my hairline was really thinning by around wk 4... was I just more focused on it because i was running gear? Hard to say... but I'm inclined to be extra careful now.
