It is time to protect ourselves

I got a bit of heat for calling out an Indian co-worker on practices I deemed shady. He immediately made it about race, and culture. The big boss is a white Karen, and lost it on me. My counter point was “at no point did I mention his race. So why is everyone making the leap shady actions are an aspect of his race and or culture?” Big boss immediately backpedaled, HR immediately backpedaled, the co-worker in question went silent, and the issue was dropped promptly. My immediate boss (whose Indian) labeled the whole issue as “a classic case of Indian fuckery” and shook my hand at the pub after.
