I got a letter today from canadian blood services about my first blood donation. I was told I would get a letter saying thanks and a bit of info about my blood tests results etc..
Anyways, my blood was rejected because I had a false negative test for HIV-1/HIV-2.
The letter stated they did 3 other different HIV tests that were more sensitve and all 3 came back negative. So the first test was a false negative.
The letter went on to say that after 6 months, I can have my blood retesed and if all tests are non reactive then I will be elgible to donate again. But I will have to apply to be retested by calling a number at the CBS to book an appoitnmet with them to do the retest. They also said I might be eligible to register in the OneMatch pogram as a potential stem cell donor.
