Does dropping trt make hcg more effective?

Good luck bud, vigorous Steve has a ton of info on fertility and strategies to better your chances.
Can't remember much because it doesn't pertain to me ( got snipped years ago)
I thought coming off test completely was the way to do it and hcg + clomid or something.

Your right it is but that's mainly for pct. They also perscrib hcg along with trt sometimes to maintain fertility throughout

This is a good one to know

Using 17-OH-Progesterone Blood Test to Optimize hCG Dose
Determining the effectiveness of the HCG dosage can be gauged through a sperm count/quality test (requiring a wait period of 3 months) and/or by measuring the level of an upstream hormone to testosterone called 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17OH-P). TRT reduces 17OH-P and other upstream hormones due to the shutdown of LH production. As HCG mimics LH, its combination with TRT may normalize upstream hormones such as 17OH-P3.

Several studies suggest that the 17OH-P blood level is correlated to ITT, thus testing for this hormone can be time-saving in adjusting HCG dosage while waiting for the 3-month sperm test4. Furthermore, the 17OH-P test may remove the necessity of conducting testicular aspirations to measure ITT, a complicated procedure usually reserved for research settings.

Research has found that a 17OH-P level greater than 6.5 nmol/L (or 215 ng/dL) can normalize ITT with the use of HCG dosages of 500 IU every other day plus testosterone enanthate injections given at 200 mg/week5. However, it is only through testing sperm count/quality after 3 months of HCG initiation that the effectiveness of HCG can be definitively assessed.

This study shows that age and duration of testosterone use can predict how long hcg will take to restore testicular function. And the chances of it happening or not happening for you based on those metrics.

Some recommend coming off TRT. The protocol resembles a PCT protocol with the addition of HMG along with HCG and clomid. Though im not sure why you would need clomid if you have HMG taking care of the FSH part of it. Personally I'd do this instead of staying on TRT.

Maybe I'll try coming off. Do you mean never more than 1500iu a week or per injection?
Per injection. I don't know if it's actually a huge deal but I read Dr. Scalley dropped what he recommended because of a study or two and I say the abstract so until there is more evidence I wouldn't risk permanent damage or desensitization for how long no one knows but the reproductive system is usually extremely slow to do anything.

When I asked my fertility specialist he said they aren't sure and they don't know but they don't prescribe above 1500iu a day.

I found when I was new to it then less made more of a difference so I could get effects from 250iu I also have seen it work a lot better for myself when some off time has happened. While on a cycle I use 500iu Ed or eod depending on the money I have and I expect it to start working slower.

I mean if it works on TRT then that's great too but if I was trying to get someone pregnant I would just cut out whatever is not going to help me.

Awesome and I wish you all the best! I'm going to try HCG monotherapy for the rest of my time off cycle at 250iu ED. ED to help even out those pulses.
How's the monotherapy going? Or, if no longer doing monotherapy, what was the experience? Please update. Thanks.

It went ok that time i ended up just tapering it down then going completely off.

It didn't go so good this time, either the HCG out there isn't as potent anymore or i don't react the same. I'm currently off completely for the foreseeable future.

Good thing we can't see to far into the future, lol.
