Dense calorie easy meals

Just as the headline says.

My guts suck, I’m trying to reduce the overall volume of food I eat by eating more calorie dense foods.
Just wondering if any of you guys have any suggestions for easy meals.
I don’t care about the fat content, I’ll adjust my total calories to stay within my goals, but I just want to give my poor colon a break from the low density carb foods like rice. Soo much volume to process.

I need to figure this out because I need to hit my weight goals but my colon is resisting all this food, lol.

White rice, chicken broth and chicken or hamburger

Trying to cut down on rice. Low density calorie food. You need to eat a lot of volume, which I’m trying to cut down.
Trying to find food choices with high calories not in sugar. Fat no issue.

Thx though, that does taste good.

I have a super high metabolism so my go to density foods are;
1. sushi grade salmon with avocado, ginger and soy (make a fake poke bowl)
2. Natural PB on that Silver Hills bread
3. Ground Bison with chicken broth (stole that from Stan E but its good)
4. Granola Cereal with Cashew beverage (i know @gondar1 its not milk...unless you want to call it nut juice LOL)

Can you tolerate nuts Sorb?
100gr of Cashews has a fairly typical profile -

100g raw Cashews is just a small handful 553cal, 18P/30C/43F

Thanks for supporting the accurate food naming movement !

Every time I eat nuts is right in the middle of a colon flare, lol.
So I’m not sure.
I used to eat them all the time before.
I’m not in a flare right now, so I’ll try.

Also don't forget smoothies...my go to is Cashew beverage, vegan protein (digests easier than whey...PVL makes a good one), 2 tbs PB, 3/4 cup oatmeal, 1 1/2 cups blueberries and strawberries.

about 600 cals...i drink it every night on the way to bed

Somewhat a double edged sword. Higher caloric density is (not necessarily always as I understand other factors are st play) usually associated with slower digestion and sometimes more difficult digestion.

You’re asking to move away from lower nutrition value foods like rice because you’re having difficulty with overall food volume.

Without getting into recipies and not understanding if you have any dietary issues of preferences

Up fat content
Add nuts, but butters, oils, avocado, full fat dairy to meals

Eat fattier cuts of meat. Red meat, hell maybe even some pork belly if you need it lol. Definitely not chicken or bison. If chicken, thighs and legs, skin on.

Carb choices are what they are so many classic choices are going to be stripped of most of their nutrients. Aim for whole grain whatever you choose and less processed. Now horse choices will have little differences in total caloric load generally, however nutritional speaking you can make up some ground.

Lastly I’m going to say with all the added fat content and probably upping protein it will be a good measure to up fibre content as well and probably significantly. Both soluable and non soluable. This may sound somewhat counterintuitive for someone saying they want to give your colon a break.... but if you’re upping fat content and protein content you’re going to need some to help out that pooper otherwise your colon is going to be working overtime trying to push out waste that looks like pasty hard pebbles. Good fibrous veggies and even supplements are friends not foes.

You can flirt with adding in processed foods date I say. Albeit less nutrition, sometimes they can pass through more quickly due to processing. But on that note they’re always less nutrient dense and always have some degree of methylethylbadshit in them. But they are usually calorie dense so maybe helpful in this case considering your strife and goal.

Also consider to look at your total water volume intake. A lot of people I know aren’t getting enough water in when they’re trying to eat for size. Usually due to shear amounts of food being taken in. However it’s necessary to move it all through. Look at water timing though and try not to drink a ton with your biggest meals.

In the end....I know I’ve probably not told you anything you don’t already know....however at the simplest level there’s only so much you can manipulate through macronutrients. Rob from Peter pay Paul analogy. Lastly and it’s not meant to be disrespectful at all. But eating to make size sucks. It hurts. You body HATES it and will fight you tooth and nail. It’s not heathy to eat this way and the body is going to fight. If this is something you want, you just do it. I know guys that have went to bed with puke rags and buckets and this is their life. Read AJ’’s so you wanna be huge. It speaks to these issues and others. And this ain’t any easier for an old guy as we all know.

Oh and I forgot.....and not something I’m largely into advocating for but that’s mostly because given the option most people will revert to this given the option.

However truly if you can’t get the cals in.... drink them when possible. P.S which was a mod forever over at cjm drinks almost all his cals (at least he used to - we havent spoken in a dog’s age). And if you know who he is.... seemed to work for him well enough. Many are critical to his approach and I understand why. It’s definitely not my model.... but I’ve not achieved anywhere even remotely close to what he has so I’m really in no position to tell him he’s wrong. Especially for him lol!

I was just going to mention that option. PS eats, or at least used to eat, only one solid meal per day. The rest were shakes. At 5'10" and 250lbs in shape PS was HUGE in my books. So there is some validity with this approach though I do understand that not everyone will like it or do as well on it. YMMV. I've done it for short periods of time and its kind of nice not having to stuff your face continuously.

Load up on coconut milk. Good healthy fats. Add it to shakes. All kinds of curries. Thai curries, East Indian curries. I like to do a sauce with coconut milk, mushrooms, spinach and Jamaican jerk paste. Pick your meat. Add your veggies.

Another good dense food is ramen. You can make homemade ramen with organic no salt chicken broth, soy sauce, warchester, ginger, garlic and 5 spice, ramen noodles, meat and sprouts. Each bowl is mega calories...its what the sumo eat. I made it for lunch.

Are we sure that meat does not add to the problem?

You know I’ve always eaten an excess of meat my whole life. I guess being around it every day at work doesn’t help.

2 days ago I started taking digestive enzymes 1 cap before each meal. Well no issues anymore. I cannot believe the difference they made.
I also bumped up my fiber intake a bit and reduced my protien powder intake to only one scoop a day last week.

The last 2 days have been the first time in months that I have not had gut pain.

Please god let this be a solution.

You know I pretty much eat ramen for lunch every day.
I add either chicken or beef to it and some onions.
Super easy to cook while working.
