Contractor woes, what to do...

I would just get pissed off, swear a bit and tear out the tile.
Mind you, try the epoxy first, The worst that happens it doesnt work and you have to pull the side.

How would you apply the epoxy, can you reach around the pipe?

Oh and I could tell a great story about when they built my shop, the general contractor was going thru a divorce. Completely useless. I ended up having to talk to the trades and asked them nicely if they could arrange finishing the shop between themselves. They told me they don’t do this normally, but wanted to finish the job and move on. I think they just felt sorry for me. Lots of things I had to repair after the fact, that was the GC’s work. Not the trades they hired, they were great.

I have a guy who is a jack of all trades and damn good, but shit getting him to show up to work is like pulling teeth. But when done its perfect.
A hard contractor is good to find.

I mean a good contractor is hard to find. And when you do, get them on the Christmas sausage and steak list. I have a good one now after this journey but I hate paying for shit I paid for already, but such is life. Stubborn pride won’t get me a new drain so time to do it.

For getting it in there I am pulling the basket from drain, then applying a cleaner to p trap as crack is in bottom and up to threads on pvc. So I’ll apply cleaner, get a deemed in there to buff up a bit. Then add the cleaner again, dry it out with hairdryer and then pour and apply epoxy in. Apparently it’s good as gold but I’ll see what happens. Then wait a couple weeks and if no leaks re drywall ceiling in basement under tub.
Fingers crossed.

This sounds exactly like what I went through last year with my contractor, I didn't let him finish the job and ate the cost, and redid it myself

Him.and his drywaller threatened me, stupidly through text message, and then threatened my wife over the phone, when the police showed up they were guys I trained bjj with, and while he picked up his tools off my driveway we all had a laugh about the threats, and what I would do to them lol,

Sorry you've had to go through this bullshit, especially since you had a shitty deal with the police that came

Small claims court is a shit show, could be years before anything gets done.
Some folks let their mouths send a message that never gets delivered. Lol I come across that frequently as well , then wake up occurs and a big oops moment for them at times…

Mine is on the steak, sausage list, actually his step son works for me, lol.

That’s a tough situation, and I understand the frustration. On the plumbing side, I share the same concern about using epoxy on a cracked P-trap—it can work temporarily, but since traps are inexpensive and serviceable, full replacement is usually the more reliable long-term fix. Before closing anything up, it’s worth running a full test cycle, filling and draining the tub and running the shower, and then checking all joints carefully for leaks. I’ve been reviewing some options and checking resources related to plumbing services to make sure I handle it correctly. Regarding the contractor issues, having detailed documentation is key, and if you pursue small claims, focusing strictly on the costs to restore the area to its prior condition is usually the most effective approach.
