I have a love hate relationship with Amazon. I love the speedy delivery, ease of ordering and selection

What I hate is having something arrive and find its a miniaturized version of what I ordered. My latest one was when I ordered a spice grinder. It arrived and is about 2inchs long. It's good for nothing. Lol

Yeah gotta be careful, but their return policy is great. I ordered a hard hat a couple weeks ago, showed up and apparently wasn't even CSA approved lol.

Even reviews are tough now with so many bought 4* reviews. You sometimes can go in and see what else people reviewed, and its obvious they are a bot. So I generally read negative reviews more. If there is a common complaint I take warning, if it's just idiots who don't know how to do life then it's good to go.
 
I've been burned a few times with a shity description of the product.
Last was an EMT holder. Turned out to be just the end caps for almost 3 bills.
Shirts are the worst... some feel like burlap sacs that will rub the skin clean off.
Mostly my fault for not wearing my glasses so I can read the description fully.
The other one that pisses me of is the 2 day shipping that turns into 2 months. I ordered meat tenderize knuckles for my daily commute into work. I have my doubts they will show up since they have to go through boarder security now.

Nothing makes me shake my head more when you see a 5 star review of something like a blender and you read it and the person bluntly says "I just opened my purchase and it looks great! I have yet to use it, but my first impressions are great!"...

Its a damn blender.. use it for a few months before putting a review up.




Keep in mind amazon reviews can be filtered... I tried to leave a bad review a couple times and amazon never approved it and so it never made it on.. My wife said they will not approve a review if you are leaving a negative feedback of the seller, has to be the product.. Junk if this is true.. some of my review were not knocking the seller, but were knocking the product and they still didn't get posted.

I've also have left a negative feedback and the seller/company will contact you and try to bribe you to change your reivew.. We had a shitty lamp we bought off amazon and we leave an appropriate review.. We were contacted and asked if we would take the review down or change it if they sent us a gift or a new lamp.. We took a new lamp and its still shitty.. but our review was changed.

Not just filtered but outright faked. You can get browser extensions to help sniff out items with fake reviews.

For cheap Chinese knock off products, if you don't mind a few extra weeks shipping time just go straight to Ali Express. Most of these amazon knock off brands come from ali express and are marked up 50-100%
 
Ya you gotta be mindful when ordering from Amazon. It seems worse than before for sneaky shitty products. They have a fantastic return policy though. I've used it numerous times and it's the best there is really.
 
I have never got something I didn't expect from Amazon. But I go thru the reviews really well. Most of the time its pretty obvious when they are schilling.

But if its something I am unsure of, if I don't get perfection, especially at a certain price, I am not upset because it was what I expected.
 
Bought a hand cranked meat grinder a few months back. We knew exactly what we were looking for, those silver looking ones you clamped to the table our parents used when we were kids. One we found looked exactly like those.

When we got it I seen instantly it was a piece of junk. I assembled it and tried to turn the handle, it was so out off whack it wouldn’t turn at all. Fucked up part was there were good reviews on it.
 
I just had a amazon run in.. I bought a RC car for my son a little while ago. Car had AMAZING reviews and also had great reviews about the customer support. I was torn between about 5 RC trucks, but I bought this one over the others purely based on the reviews of how good the company was. Well I found out they are not a good company... Car was junk (I think somneone else bought it and beat it up and returned to amazon actually) and the company had english second language people responding to emails and you could tell they were following a script, not actually addressing my concerns in my email. I actually told them via email I would try another truck even if it means buying their next model up in cost/quality. They actually addressed only 2 of my concerns in the email and ignored the big one about being sold a previosuly owned car.

I left a negative review of the car on amazon and then I editied with a folloow up..

Well on the weekend they emailed me and said they would send me a new car.. I told them I already stated I Was returning the truck and did not want a replacement due to the quality and customer service. They emailed me again saying they would gladly send me out a replacement.. I told them I already sent the first car back to amazon and I am done with their company.. They then said "we'd like to send you a replacement at no charge"... They are honestly a asian company with asian people doing customer servvice.. so I made them clarify what that meant.. They said they would send me a free truck replacement and also give me a refund.. I accepted the free car and full refund obviouasly.

Well they started texting me tonight.. First trying to get me to accept a gift card for my refund which I said no too.. then they said they would refund my credit card then right away.. I said thank you.. They then said a new truck replacement has been sent out already.. I said thank you again..

Then they sent me a few texts asking me/begging me to change my amazon review...


I have screen shots, but there you have it.. a clear example of how shit amazon sellers can be.. They will send you a free 150$ RC truck and give you your money back to bribe you to not leave negative comment about the product or company on amazon..

To be clear, they did not say if I remove my comment I will get a free truck and a refund.. they sent out the free truck and gave the refund before asking to remove the review.
 
I love to go camping. I’ve noticed on Amazon you can buy tents with amazing reviews and yet these tents suck big time…like if it rains you’re gonna get soaked. But they also have “name brand” tents that are excellent and priced right. Other times (well most times) brand name tents on Amazon have way jacked up prices. So I find you really have to do your research on what you’re buying…and I always ignore the reviews.
 
I just bought my wife a dildo off of Amazon.
Came exactly as advertised. Long, thick and black. Now she’s asking where I keep it.
Might have really fucked up. Fuck Amazon.
