Hey guys this has always interested me. How can bodybuilding/builders always eat ? I personally can't eat all day long . When I'm full that's it for me . If I force myself ill feel sick . I function fine on 3-4 meals . I been trying to gain more weight and find getting the 5th meal or shake in just horrible . Doesn't work with my schedule and the amount if free hours I have in the day. I applaud the ones that can eat all day . I have been trying to increase my appetite and can't seem to do so any advice guys?

Could try adding in liquid calories like whole milk. Or adding a few servings of nut butters / oils to your meals. If you're having trouble consuming more calories, depending on what your macro's currently look like, I would lean into fats a little more maybe.

It's all about momentum, do more eat more. I found a bit of cardio or sex lol helps to stimulate appetite.

A lot of guys get afraid of doing cardio when they're bulking, when in fact, it will help increase your metabolism, which in turn helps with the turnover of nutrients and there for speeds up the rate of recovery and protein synthesis. I found a small amount of T3 to be beneficial while bulking also.

The types of fats play a huge role too. I try to stay away fatty cuts of meat, and then use avocado oil, macadamia nut oil and olive oil for my fats.

very interesting I can come comfortably get 3000 but can't stand the feeling of forcing myself but like @Rolls roydz said ur supposed to feel crappy . Just wish I had more of an appetite

MK677 or cannabis , or both lol. But yeah man, you just have to push for a new set point, and like CoolRick mentioned; make sure you're staying active, give your body that demand for more food.

i see where you're coming from. I found at that point where I'm starting to feel sick of eating (particularly protein), growth is topping out. I listen to my body and start to pull food out to get leaner, it gets the fire burning again for sure. Then once you have that momentum going again throw the food back in. There's a fine line between being uncomfortable and full all the time and feeling sick/ toxic, just something to think about.

Something I did on my last bulk was actually do lower carbs about 80g/day and then increase protein and fats as i grew, then at the end of each week eat increasingly bigger cheat meals. I actually put very little body fat on this way. I felt way better, feeling a bit hungry, definitely had more energy too.

The body is smart, you don't HAVE to pound it with food everyday, despite popular belief, unless maybe you're a mass monster with a screaming metabolism. Feeling hungry on a bulk at times bulk is important.

Wow Carbs@80g on a bulk, that's different. What was your diet looking like mostly?

Thanks buddy. Some people I find can just keep eating

When I did my first "real" bulk, ie following a specific caloric intake and upping it by 300 every now and then as needed, I found it made things easier to try to get about 60% of my food in before noon, because I was always really hungry when I woke up.

This of course may not work if you have a different schedule, but my deal was often:
Wake up at 5ish, do any cardio/walking if needed for that day while fasted, then eat....French toast was my favorite for this: 4-6 eggs, 4-6 slices of homemade thick bread, covered in fruit like blueberries/strawberries/bananas, on the side maybe some egg whites, but since that was a lot to chew already, usually just a protein shake made with some almond milk.

That would often be a 12-1500 calorie breakfast. An hour or hour and a half later: workout.

After workout shake was 120-150 grams of dry oats, skim or oat milk, protein powder or egg whites, fruit etc....(another 800 cals in the shake usually).

Now It's noon and I'm already up to 2-2.5k calories. The rest of the day, I would usually need another 1-2k calories, which if you're having a steak or some chicken was no big deal, since now I have from noon until 1-10pm to graze or eat however I wanted.

That helped me a lot. Stuffing a lot of the carbs in around the workout was ideal for my day and made the rest of the meals smaller and easier to deal with.

Hope that helps a bit,

I've always had a massive appetite so my experience might not help. I'm currently eating upwards of 5000 calories on training days with no issue.

- macros are important. When my fats surpass ~10-15g per meal, I find it slows my digestion down too much and am often not hungry for my next meal. Olive oil is my preferred fat source.
- Rice will be your go to carb source. Too much fiber in oats and potatoes may be problematic.
- drink water between meals, not with meals.
- move between meals. Even if it's just a 10 min walk after each meal.

There's probably others I'm forgetting to mention but that's off the top of my head.

In conclusion, your best bet digestion wise will likely be lean meat, rice, olive oil

Yeah, I should have remembered that oats are not everyone's favorite for stomach / digestion reasons, but I like them quite a bit with no issues there. At least for now...maybe they'll start to get to me.

Cream of rice is a good sub for oats for those that have digestive issues with oats. Thankfully I don't I love my oats man. I have digestive issues with Potato's unfortunately. But just knowing very well what your body digests well is game changing when it comes to cranking up the cals and not feeling like a bag of shit.,

320g protein, 120g fat 80g carbs by the end of it. Mostly chicken, whole eggs, beef here and there and casein for shakes.

Something inspired by what the guys did back in the golden era. Worked really well to not be insulin resistant by the end if it all too.

Back in my later 20s I would force feed to eat over 6k calories, alot of it was dirty food. A muffin, cookie, peanut butter cups or something pre and post workout probably won't hurt and it's an easy 500cals or something. Wouldn't do it if you're trying to lose weight but bulking is different. I really like children's cereal preworkout, something like froot loops mixed with some rice crispy and banana 🤤 delicious and cereal pumps are baller.

Man, I wish appetite is my problem lol. I'm blessed with huge appetite and the crappiest metabolism, I can eat mounds of rice with meat no problem, but if I go over my maintenance a little it funnels to my fat handles immediately lol
