Is it me or is it a bad year for skunks????

I've trapped 3 at my house in the past month. Got another one tonight. New ones just keep showing up.

I keep our garbage tidy, don't leave cat/dog food out etc..

Ive lived in this house for 7 years and I've only had 2 skunks in those years, but this year they just keep showing up.
 
Nope..... lots around here too. More than normal. One almost got me at my dads house.... I fucking tripped over the woodpile trying to get away from the fucker (came around the corner of the truck around 4:45 in the morning and he was right there, not pleased with my presence)

There I went ass over apple cart trying to scurry away before getting bombed.

lol... 2 times this year I Went outside after dark and as soon as I stepped out the door a skunk was right there looking at me.

I have no issues with skunks, except I have a dog and a couple cats tht I don't want sprsyed.

2 years ago my dog was sprayed 3 times in a week. 2 of those times were in the face.

you and your pets can actually go blind if you get it directly in your eyes

I can relate to that. I had a Bull Terrier back in the day that was sprayed give or take five times on our jaunts in the woods. A couple of times I was nailed with him and didn't notice until I got home. Pretty bizarre.
 
The inside of my truck and wife's car stinks bad of skunk now. I trapped it about 10 yards from our vehicles and I couldn't move the trap with it inside so I had to shoot it right there. And of course it sprayed. Somehow it made it into the cars.
