Passwords. Are you secure??

To many folks have weak passwords and then complain about being hacked. Its very important to have strong passwords and to store them in a safe place.

Here are some good rules to follow for passwords

Never use the same password on more then one site or email

Do not allow Internet Explorer to store passwords for you

Either be creative in making a password or use a password generator.

Use symbols and numbers, upper case and lower case in your passwords. For example @#JKmm<>'?Qsst is good and mymotherthecar sucks as a password.

Make sure you set up and use recovery email if offered. Make sure that recovery email is secure.
If your using a recovery page to your cell make sure it is also secure.

Delete any email asking for you to log into any site with your password. They want you to login so they now have your information.

Here is a site you can use to create a strong password http://strongpasswordgenerator.com/

To test the strength of your passwords go here http://www.passwordmeter.com/

Using the password generator I was given the password 5:#\8(Y~$1n'`0t

testing that password it came back at 100% strength

And no worries I am not going to use that password anywhere lol

Great info..i am guilty of using mostly the same few.. if not i forget them..I always thought it was safer to save the passwords cause then your not typing them in everytime?

I'm guilty of saving it to my computer cause i'm lazy that way lol. I did the test and it came back at 100%

Oh, and i was wandering Bull do you have the same setup here as you had on NM where every however many months you had to change your password?

This software does not do that. However I can force a password change on any manually. Odds are there is an add on for doing that.
My next step is buying and adding more add-ons
