Moxham is an awesome place train and is one of the few hardcore bodybuilding gyms left on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. Grunting, and slamming the weights is not an issue so taking your workouts to failure and beyond is not an issue.

Haven’t been home in a few years, but next time I am coming here!!!
Walking distance from where I grew up and went to school!
Thanks for posting @TPM_81, I’ll definitely be dropping in to check it out.

I've been there it's a hardcore place no hype or bells and whistles, it's great when you come out you feel like you trained not like you were in a spa.

Hope this gym is still kicking around! Working abroad it's hard to find old school gyms..

Moxham is still around, but they changed locations and it is much smaller with less equipment unfortunately. Still a great atmosphere!

Perry’s was my favorite gym in Cape Breton, but I’ve since invested a ton of money into a home gym so I haven’t been to any public gym in years.

One of the old lady’s at Perry’s used to get irritated when we did deadlifts 😂 only downfall.

Moving to Halifax soon and looking for solid gym recommendations in Nova Scotia. Good to know Moxham is still around, even if it's smaller now. Anyone have experience with the hard-core or bodybuilding gyms right in the Halifax/HRM area as well?

I know people love fitnessFX but my favorite gym in the HRM when I lived there was o2 wellness, it was a bit more expensive in comparison to other gyms but that weeds out the time wasters and groups of high school kids hogging gear. (And the stinky people)

I have friends who are powerlifters in the area, and they stick with fitnessFX.
