hey CB'ers... i'm really busy in life so i'm kinda like a one-trick pony. Up til now the only board i read was NM.

What's the netiquette anout being a member on more than one board? What's the protocol for introducing yourself and making clear that you not gonna cause a rauccus nor any drama?

Any tips or suggestions will be well-received.

thanks!

CW

Being on more than one board in not unusual but fairly common. The biggest board whore is Bull! Haha

The best thing is make an intro after joining and letting people know where else you hang your hat. This allows the members there to welcome you and establish that you are not a total newb. Lots of times if it’s a BB forum there will already be familiar handles.

I agree with flexytitts on this... just know that being trusted on one site does not insure you are on another, and things from one board can spread like wildfire like gonereha, so keep your pecker wrapped and use common sense on discussing any privileged or private info.

I have been in the midst of s few board flame wars and they are ridiculous.

I like using one board as home . Called NM home and mostly posted there . Usually just stick to Canadian boards

I currently have memberships on a few different boards. I don’t actively post on all of them but I do register the same username on any I join. It helps when that particular board is trying to get a feel for you as a newb in their house. I think of it as your username becomes your online reference letter.

NM was the only board I frequented anymore. I'm bummed we lost it and all the post history.

I'm probably going to sign up on the 'other one' to see what's shakin, but ya I'm not into any drama if there is any, so that stays out. I do hope we can get our Vet status back though.

Everyone from NM will have their membership status restored on this board. It’s on @Admin list if things to do and he’s already announced this.
On Canadian Brawn “Vets” will now be “Trusted Memebers”

Good to see you Kloan

Good to know ...( our status getting carried over)
Member on a few other boards .. but like sticking to Canadian roots

I made life easier after some drama and pulled my memberships on other boards. Was only on NM. Now Im only on here.

Ill browse other forums once in a blue moon, like when NM went down, but thats the extent of my involvement elsewhere.

This will be the 3rd BB/AAS board I've been an active member of. The second one I've been staff on. I have been staff on other boards but they were unrelated hobbies to this one. I did join one other BB/AAS type board but it wasn't a good fit and stopped going there after a few days. Cant even remember the name now. I've belonged to CJM, NM, and now CB. Typically I'm only a member of one of these kinds of boards at a time. This time will be no different. I have always used the same user name on all of the BB/AAS boards I've belonged too.

I just have an active membership on this board. Being on many boards can eat a lot of hours in a day, which I really don't have time for. I have a membership at CBB but the discussion there started to focus on competitor related topics which is fine but kind of specific, so I haven't posted there in a lon time. When you want to make an introduction at another board it's probably good to let people know about your experince level and whether you compete. Similarly experienced folks will then start interacting with you soon after because they don't have to feel you out.

I’m active on a couple boards , I find it’s good to keep up with what is going on and such . I really enjoyed NM , but I’m sure this new board will be great as well!

I'm a mod/supermod at 3 boards and an active member at another Canadian forum that has become my home board. Rules and behavior are the same everywhere. Respect everyone, no trolling, don't be mean to anyone and if you really can't stand someone just ignore him.
