Kidney stones

I had abdominal pain. GP thought it was a gastritis which is right but discomfort didn't really disappear while on Pantomed. I had an ultrasound earlier and I have kidney stones (high protein diet, not enough water, ....). Not sure what the next step is but I'm worried.

Hi MG

Sorry to hear about your kidney stones but I'm glad there's not anything else going on in your abdomen.

Here's a video you've probably seen already - hopefully it will make you smile (and not more worried)... I'm sure yours will cooperate and come out much easier than Kramer's and then you will have your relief. :)

Take care & good luck,

OD

Low oxalate foods is what's recommended for kidney stones. Google search a pile of them and integrate it into your diet, removing the high oxalate forming foods.

It all depends on the type of stones you have. I worked at the Urology Dept of a General Hospital. Some people have to avoid spinach (oxalate rich) while others myst avoid dairy (calcium stones),
