Humanity has wiped out 60% of animal populations since 1970, report finds

Species have come and gone for millions of years, I wouldn’t put too much stock in that report, especially from the guardian or the ever unbiased wwf.
 
There is simply too many humans on earth for the way we choose to live.

Even if every human lived a simpler, less materialistic life we continue to increase in population every single year so eventually this still wont fix the issue.

There's too many humans on planet earth and no change will save the planet except reducing our population.

Hell no! I think every human that believes our precious planet is over populated should step up to the plate for a mass suicide. That in itself would rid the planet of half the population, problem solved.
 
With the election of the new president in Brazil,I believe it is time that all countries acknowledge the importance of the rainforests there,all countries should contribute to preserve this vital region of the earth.

He is going to be a tough one to deal with, but you are corect that we all need to counter him.
 
I have to re-read a bit to determine how this has effected the stats but currently we have 100 million tonnes of wild large animals , 700 million tonnes of domesticated animals and 500 million tonnes of humans. It does show we displacing wild life with our domestic creatures. Historically large wild life goes first such as the woolly mammoth because they offered more food and bred less. Many more bunnies than elephants?

Actually the biggest concern is what the Chinese want.Bolsonaro has already declared that he will not give up any Brazilian territory.Chinese predatory capitalism has become quite a concern.

I was referring to Bolsonaro's stand on the indigenous peoples of Brazil and his love for the fascist dictators of the past.
What the Chinese want the Chinese will get. It all comes down to will they be raping the nations they are investing in or supporting them in growth.
