Gallstones from losing weight rapidly

I didn’t even know this could happen but recently learned (not from experience) that you can get gallstones from losing weight too quickly.

just a heads up for anyone that’s going on an aggressive cut or weight loss plan.

ursodiol acid (UDCA) is prescribed for gallstone prevention when losing weight rapidly after gastric bypass surgery
I think TUDCA would work as well

You just came upon this information? There must be a story behind it.

just was doing research on TUDCA and UDCA and it said one of the reasons UDCA is prescribed is to prevent gallstones from rapid weight loss

I googled “rapid weight loss gallstones” and there’s a ton of information on it. I had no clue losing weight quickly could do this
Saw a study on how extremely low fat diets could also be a factor. It said it had to do with the gallbladder not emptying properly due to not eating fat
