Does Foam Rolling Help Sports Tissue Injuries?

I started rolling my legs this week. It doesnt feel great at first that's for sure.
For me its helping to loosen up those muscles to help with the patellar tear.

Some fun literature on meta-analyses and systematic reviews:

"Overall, it was determined that the effects of foam rolling on performance and recovery are rather minor and partly negligible, but can be relevant in some cases (e.g., to increase sprint performance and flexibility or to reduce muscle pain sensation). Evidence seems to justify the widespread use of foam rolling as a warm-up activity rather than a recovery tool. "

"The current literature measuring the effects of SMR is still emerging. The results of this analysis suggests that foam rolling and roller massage may be effective interventions for enhancing joint ROM and pre and post exercise muscle performance. However, due to the heterogeneity of methods among studies, there currently is no consensus on the optimal SMR program. "

Good post, I'll say that it really feels like it's doing something good for me (once I stop especially)

PS- "heterogeneity" - I'm gonna make that my word of the day, try to use it in conversation 3 times. My fav cashier at Walmart ain't gonna know what hit her
