Brain Fog

I know not directed at me but here but I hate to see people suffering with this so pointers from me on things I’ve read.

First, look into magnesium and the benefits it provides. Has worked wonders for me in my old age to keep my sleeps excellent and relieve brain fog. I can honestly say the first time I took it, it was amazing and it seemed like the next day someone had blown the clouds away and I was finally able to see clearly for the first time in years.

Secondly I’m not sure on your gear usage if you are blast and cruising. But I’ll try to summarize my understanding (still attempting to fully grasp this) of the effects of testosterone in Pregnenolone.

The argument is being made is that negative feedback inhibition of LH caused by taking testosterone reduces or stops the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone and that pregnenolone serves as neurosteroid that modulates NMDA and GABA receptor activity. Through using hCG as an analog for LH, the idea is that activation of LH receptors will increase pregnenolone synthesis.

The concern is that (take this for what you will) that because of the effects of testosterone supplementation in LH it shuts down the conversion of cholesterol to Pregnenolone. The thought is that pregnenolone has been linked to cognitive benefits which could very well be causing the symptom of brain fog. Unfortunately we do not appear to have the studies to show its effects in men. So it’s something to look into, perhaps someone here knows more than me on the topic and can add more.

I've been taking magnesium for 9 months now. Didn't notice anything mind blowing...

Question for you.. Can I get prenenolone tested? If I got my LH tested and it came back high, can I assume I am low prenenlone? Are their other symptoms of low pregnenolone?

Do you have any research papers to support what your saying?

@animal-inside did you ever notice a positive spike in mood from tren or test base? i'm talking like 20-45 minutes of clarity or something like that? Did you go on a roller coaster or something to see if adrenaline gives you relief? do asthma meds help by speeding up your heart rate?

I've never used test or tren base.

I've never tried asthma meds

Why would I go on a roller coaster to see if adrenaline gives releif?

What would saying yes to these questions mean?

Any help or idea's would be very appriciated.

That’s unfortunate, I always mention it because it worked so well for me but I was clearly deficient.

Yes you can get pregnenolone levels tested I believe only under certain conditions. I think you are getting LH somewhat confused. Exogenous Testosterone halts the HPT Axis (HPTA) and as such the testicles are no longer receiving LH. This is know by most of us as simply "shutdown" or "HPTA suppression."

The testes are the single largest producer of the hormone Pregnenolone; the mother of all hormones (http://www.antiaging-systems.com/165...one-metabolite) We need Pregnenolone for so many reasons and while it can be supplemented it's hit or miss on how effective supplementation can be for some men.

Pregnenolone is important for proper mental functioning and is the precursor to all of the steroid hormones found in the three CHOL pathways such as DHEA, testosterone, DHT, estrogen, cortisol...

You are absolutely right in questioning this as I hope more do. I am simply reiterating what I have heard and read from others lately on the subject, which though seemingly making logical sense does not have any current studies behind it. Here is a topic that relates which includes some relevant data.

Not sure if there is a thread where you discuss your brain fog symptoms, but it is something I have had for years. I was diagnosed with Depersonalization Disorder after many tests coming back negative (very thorough bloodwork, CT, and MRI. The MRI included looking for signs of multiple sclerosis)

The primary things that I have found to help improve it were; a stable TRT dose. Any significant changes in dose or dosing frequency caused it to “flare up” and the biggest one is screens. The more time I spend in front of a screen the worse it gets. In the summer when I don’t have much time for sitting in front of a screen it almost disappears completely.

I have been using CBD oil and it seems to help a little. Allows me to function better. Lately I have been researching intranasal insulin and will be giving that a try in the near future. Looks promising.

I should add that my diagnosis is associated with PTSD and is triggered most severely when something brings up those memories. There are so many issues that have brain fog as a reported symptom.

Update us when you find out more. Good luck.

I like my brain fog, not a care in the world, no thoughts, no stress no nothing when it passes reality sets in and it's a little disappointing. I'm probably not really suffering severely like some could be, I do get spacey lots and thoroughly enjoy that. Come to think about it I could have wiped 10mins ago but why?
