BM11's guide to making your own capsules

With all the varying methods I have seen posted, some seeing downright convoluted, I figured I would post my method for making a batch of caps. I have heard a number of different methods, but the most ridiculous was measuring out a 20mg dose and taking it. I don't know what you guys have for scales, but 20mg is an almost impossible amount to weigh. That is like 10 grains of powder! You would have to have a scale accurate to the thousandth to be accurate, and even then, it would be very tough.

The appropriate method, in my opinion, is the following:

First, weight out 50 empty caps. Using your capping machine, fill them with your desired filler, using a tamper to increase capacity, and add an extra degree of final accuracy. The more times you have to tamp, the more even the powder distribution. For filler, I prefer glutamine for work ability. Weigh again, once full. Subtract the empty cap weight from the full cap weight, and that is your total working number. Say that it is 18 grams, for this example. Record the weight so you don't have to go through this process again, you should only have to do this when you first get your cap machine.

So now you know that a batch of 50 caps will hold 18g of powder. What you do from here, say you want to make 50mg caps of anavar, do the following: multiply 50mg per cap by the 50 caps per batch, that will give you 2500mg, or 2.5 grams. Subtract that 2.5 grams from the 18 gram cap capacity and combine the 2.5g anavar with the 15.5g of filler.

Use an appropriate mixing method, I prefer either a coffee grinder or a mortar and pestle, and I always add a few drops of food coloring (liquid, not gel!) The food coloring serves two purposes: color coded cap identification so you don't confuse your cialis with your anavar, and also it is a good indication that your horomone and filler are thoroughly mixed, when your whole batch is all one color. I mix extra thoroughly, just to make sure. Take this mixture and put the whole thing in your tray at one end, and use a credit card or the supplied card to spread out. The caps should top off easily without pressure, assuming that your mixture was dry. You should also have a layer of powder spread evenly on the top. Tamp your caps down to compress the powder, and spread again. Repeat until all of the powder is in the caps. Move the tabs to expose the bottom of the caps, apply the tops and squeeze together to make sure they are compressed together. Thats all!

As a few notes, this above method is for a cap machine that makes batches of 50. The protocol would be the same but the math would be different if anything else were the case. Also, a powder with a density of roughly .75cc per gram should be used to match densities, just so that the only variable that needs to be changed for different batch strengths is the amount of filler used.

The other point I need to make, is that when working with drugs that require very very small doses, such as arimidex at .25mg, there is no way to cap with any level of accuracy that small an amount of powder. An appropriate solvent should be used, and made into a solution. The same process should apply for women as well, as accuracy and small dosing comes into play, women's doses should be prepared as a solution.

This is just the process that I have developed, if anyone else has anything to add, feel free. I hope that we can make this a sticky, to be my lasting contribution to the board, and also because the question gets asked on an almost weekly basis.
