Well its time to get a new android box. Does anyone have any recomendations for a good one? We have had our current one for about 3 years and its just not working too well anymore.

I have buzz tv. omg its great. I paid just for the box and subscription for 6 months to live TV. now that is past I use a app on the box to get live tv. but mostly I just watch the tv shows and movies. It works great and only cost me about $200
I pay for nothing other than real debrid... don’t get sucked into subscriptions for what is for free and out there.
$30 for six months allows premium or preferred links for movies, and it runs seamlessly in Kodi. Just follow the instructions to set up the account in resolveurl and urlresolve. Use both services as redundancy.
I use Xenon as my skin/package as I find it has the most current updates for all the addons it suppourts. It is layer out well, easy to navigate and has great support.
Now for box...
Gigica is what I am running now. A few minor hiccups, but robust machine when is fed its protien and updates regularly.
My wish list?
Nvidia Shield.
I have set up a few for friends now, and this is the cream of the crop.
Use a debrid account, have reliable fast internet and that machine, and you are a golden god.
Bookmark openload and any other authorization links in your phone for quick reference so your not fumbling to enter a code to get a movie to start.
There are other debrid services available, but I found real-debrid to work great for me.
Once configured, your source lines will show both “paid premium” links and regular web links, premium links (realDB) will be highlighted in blue.
I find the 720p links work the best for the bang.
Shoot any questions my way. 50+ installs on varying platforms so far.

I followed your conversation until I got to the word "debrid" as in "I pay for nothing other than real debrid.."
then from there on I am totally at a loss. To set something like that up I would need someone onsight and patient lol

No worries. The buzz tv works fine. I had not watched tv for 5 years or so until last fall. Tv was not even plugged in.
