Air fryer worth it?

The black friday deals are right around the corner...
I'm debating getting an airfryer lol. I'd mostly use it to cook my chicken breasts and I might give potatoes a try to replace some rice. For the people that own an airfryer, is it worth the hype or do I stick to my good old school oven?

I use mine almost daily. You can basically cook anything in it.

I like it for roasting my veggies and potatoes mainly.

Meat cooks really well but I don’t usually use it for that because I cook in bulk and can’t fit a whole lot in there.

Believe it or not I’ve cooked some of my best steaks in the air fryer.

I bought my Ninja brand one from Costco about 3 years ago for $60 and it’s still going strong. Would 100% buy again without hesitation.

(no I do not own stock in big air fryer!😂)

Yes, I think it's worth it. A two basket one is even better if you can get one of those.

I've bought them for a few others as gifts and they love them and use them all the time now.

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback. Thinking about snatching this one.

I have the slightly older version of this one. I like it however I'd prefer a 2 basket one. The basket is big on this one, and it's not super great for cooking lots of food. I think 2 baskets would be better for cooking lots. Not a bad purchase. Just not a great one.

What would be the advantage of getting one with 2 baskets? More space? A divider to cook two different things at once?

Yes, both space and the option to cook two different things with two different settings at the same time.

It's handy and they usually cost around the same.

We use ours almost daily. Potatoes, sweet potato, roasted vegetables, chicken, salmon. It’s great.

Son, use it all the time for chicken wings and Smokies

Filling the basket to capacity makes cooking longer and uneven. More space is my angle.

Are they healthier than regular frying?
I'm guessin, just in that it skips or severely limits the oil as mentioned. I have one too and it's great as far as limiting mess, not firing up the oven which I assume saves some cash. I wonder how many health minded folks fry in oil the old fashioned way with any regularity anymore anyways though? Growing up lots of people had deep fryers but I don't even remember the last time I saw one.

PS - I've never looked but if there is an air fryer out there that flips the food around for you that would truly be the cats ass, probably is but I bet she's pricy. I'd be hard pressed to cook with anything else if I had one though, set it and forget + great value.

I got a deep fryer in my garage that I havn’t used in 2 years. I keep thinking maybe I should dump the oil out of it and get rid of it, but then I get lazy and it’s not in the way, lol.
