For anybody who's had a heart attack or heart problems, what are the symptoms, and how did you know it was a heart related issue?

my dad had a stroke, used to try and give me health advice all the time, like weight lifting bad & become fat like me!🤡🤡🤡

he didnt have any noticeable symptoms

Most of the men in my family were very fit military men. The majority had heart attacks with no warning or symptoms.

that CAN happen but not always. Knew someone who was having the left arm issues and some other stuff, he didnt bother going to the Dr for whatever reason I forgot why and had a massive fatal heart attack sometime later. Then again, Ive also heard people having these issues and seeing the doctor and the hackjob doctor didnt bother to check their heart/CV system

i'm not being a jerk or anything, but could you have had a small heart attack and not known it?

my gran used to say that she had ome in her early thirties, but back then there wasn't healthcare like we got now...so she just rested for a week and life went on.

I didn't really want to answer because I didn't want to take the chance of giving any false info on this very serious subject. But I can answer this one, yes absolutely. Other less common(?) symptoms I have heard about from friends who have had a heart attack are pain in the back, pain in the jaw and nausea.

My cousin supposedly just had one. He was having acid reflux, went to his doctor, doctor thought it was an ulcer sent him for some bloodwork it came back and was told he had a heart attack. He was completely unaware.

Heart attacks come in many forms and for many reasons.

This is really odd coincidence, but my left arm is tingling today😅 not even joking. But Im definitely leaning towards it being due to the surgery I just had in the left shoulder about 2 months ago. Gonna get bloodwork done on monday

edit: ok both arms are tingling, getting MAD skin tearing pumps on tren holy crap

I know for women the sign of a stroke or a heart attack is when you hear a high-pitched sound in your right ear not many people know about that.

Thats a good question , im not entirely sure.i would assume panic attack as ibhad clamey hands and feet and felt faint had to pull over jump in bunk. Its possible, after checkups are complete i maybreturn to discuss hear what iv found out incase it helps others.

looking on google, clamy hands and feet while feeling faint are mentioned, but not tingling arms

WOW! never heard that before and it didn't say it on google. I wonder if the incidence of heart attack in women is lower than men, and the symptoms are different, too.

This also makes me question recovery/mortality rates since there are physiological differences in the symptoms.

After my father passed, my mom started having ringing in her right ear she kept going to the doctor they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her. The doctors thought it was some kinda of sinus infection but then she went to another doctor and told them her symptoms of the ringing in her ear, they ended up having scan of her heart and that’s when she found out she had a heart attack and not even known about it. Doctors say it’s very common for females mostly get that and a lot of doctors overlook that symptom. Man and women have different symptoms of a heart attack. For some reason on the back of a right ear there’s a blood vessel that gets triggered when a woman has a heart attack.

I’ve never had a heart attack but ever since last year I’ve been looking into longevity/disease prevention.

and it seems a large part of heart disease is genetic. There’s certain genetic tests you can get done, certain mutations increase chances of having different diseases.

also lifestyle (diet/exercise) seems to be another leading factor

Ford brewer on YouTube has a lot of videos on heart disease and stroke prevention. I think the coronary calcium score is what you want done (Ct scan) to test your likelihood of getting a heart attack (don’t quote me on that)

hope you’re doing okay, and like others have mentioned definitely see a doctor if you’re not feeling right.

Excellent post! This is so important to remember.

My gran used to say that it was really rare for women to have heart attacks, despite that she had one so young. But she didn't even know she had one, and only self-diagnoses after she felt better and recovered.

I wonder if the rate of occurrence was always there, but heart attacks just weren't as fatal in women because the causes were diferent (stress vs poor diet) or genetically a woman's heart attack might affect the heart differently. Of course, this is all speculation, but it has me wondering...
