Hey guys,

Just about to run out of my usual protein 10lb bag that I order out of the US, ON gold standard whey. Been using that for about the last 3 years straight and looking for a change, and maybe support a Canadian company at the same time. I have to order online because all I have around me in town are hippie health stores. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks!

KR

Usually pvl or diesel, both available at the grocery store down the street. Costco in the next town over has some decent no name protein iso and whey. The name on the front means nothing to me, usually the big name brands are the ones that dust their products anyways. I just look for grams of protein per serving, amount of servings, and cost.

Canadian Protein's GF NZ whey isolate (it's cold filtered).

OR

Primevil Labs Isolit is pretty good flavour wise. Also Magnum Quattro isolate is super tasty.

Canadian Protein here too.
If you buy something at a big box store like walmart or whatever be aware that most brands have 2 versions of protein product. IOW read the labels carefully the big box store stuff may be an inferior product compared to supp store or online.

I was reminded of this recently when I noticed walmart had "Diesel" which many folks like. I didn't actually check that label though as I don't use that one anyhow.

Yes do not buy Diesel from Walmart.

If you compare the label from there to Popeyes it's quite different. I think Popeyes actually have a comparison in store.

Vega sport protein - sobeys obviously buys way too much and puts it on half price. It is on vitamart and expensive, half the cost at sobeys when on sale.

Be careful with Vega. It has over 50% your daily requirement of iron and if you eat meat, spinach, cereals or other high iron foods it’s not hard to get way over the 100% daily requirements which is not good for men over 40’s heart. (You can ask your ferritin # when you donate)

I'm going to give Canadian protein a shot. Ordering a 5kg NZ whey isolate and some casein to try it out.

Lol i bought some protein from Walmart one time, tried it and my ass almost exploded. It was likely just that brand, but man, I dont think I ever ran that fast to a washroom in my life. I have no issues spending extra dough on quality
